NEW LEADERS. NEW DIRECTION.
A Message from Adam Krauthamer
Local 802 President-elect
December 5, 2018
Dear Fellow Musicians:
We have just received the certified results of yesterday’s election and I am proud to announce that you have elected me to be your next President by an overwhelming margin. Moreover, the entire MFC slate has been elected, including Karen Fisher to the Office of Financial Vice-President, in what is a clear mandate for change. The full results of yesterday’s election can be accessed here.
We are grateful for, and humbled by, your enthusiastic support. With this mandate, we will move forward decisively to implement our vision of this union—building a more secure future for all of our members. Everyone on the MFC team is prepared to get to work to create a better future, serve our fellow musicians and create positive change at Local 802.
MFC Announces Program to Serve
Notes from the Campaign Trail
Fellow 802 Musicians,
We see what you see.
Declining membership, less and less union work under contract, a younger generation of musicians who see no value in joining our union, a pension plan in crisis, and a leadership that has not stepped up to the challenges we face. Together, these troubling trends represent an existential threat to our union. If this does not change, eventually there won’t be any union at all. That is a future we refuse to accept.
On Tuesday December 4th, Vote - 802 Musicians for Change
To elect a new team to rebuild the strength of this union
To bring new thinking to the challenging environment we find ourselves in
To make our union leadership more transparent and more accountable to its membership
To make our union serve its membership better and be more responsive to its needs
To rebuild the membership base and strengthen its finances
To challenge the trustees of the pension plan to right the ship
New Leaders. New Direction. Stronger Union.
